NOT ON MY WATCH!

 |
Currently
we have 2 world issues that need to be dealt with. I will
provide links to selected clips on these issues.
As many of you may already know; I served in the Canadian
Forces as a cadet, a reserve and a regular force soldier. My
last posting being to the Special Service Force, CFB Petawawa.
I am now a Professional Fire Fighter, and Humanitarian. I have
been to Thailand several times and have taken vacation from
work, to go to New Orleans for Katrina, as well as being a
Tactical Medic for a Tactical Officers Association in the USA.
I am by no means a "pacifist", nor am I a "warmonger".
I am what I call a "REALIST" I accept the fact that
sometimes, military intervention is required, to bring peace to
a region, while at other times, it is the least viable option.
Many of you have heard of Darfur, some may not have.
However, your children have. It is becoming more and more
common to see young children, grade school ages, and High School
ages reading and learning about this. What do they learn from
this..... that not all people are equal, that money and power
are more important then compassion and morals, that MIGHT makes
RIGHT!
I realize the political tenderness of such issues globally,
however this is not a new issue, it has been years since the
start. the UN the USA and everyone else are so afraid to use
the word "GENOCIDE" Well, I will. DARFUR = GENOCIDE, Period!
Do we want to look back as we approach our graves knowing that
we permitted such atrocities to carrying on for so long? Are we
YOU, able to say without regret, that you did nothing?
We have so many issues to deal with currently, SPP, NAU, NAFTA,
but let’s not forget that 500 or more die each and every day
while we ignore this genocide.
With the United Nations, and the entire free world to
afraid to act because of the fact that this is an Islamic force
doing this, I see only a few options. (Religion has nothing to
do with this.) 1. Lobby the hell out of the government,
and FORCE them to act. 2. Act in place of them
by sending money and supplies to credible organizations to
assist in Darfur. 3. Join one of the organizations, or
create a NGO/NPO, and lastly, take the fight to them. I don't
wish to see anymore loss of life here; however the time is
approaching when force must be met with force. A Blue Beret
won’t help in the near future, it will require men and women to
take this conflict and genocide to the next level, and strike
back. This is where we are headed. We either act now in peace,
or we act later in war.
It is every single human’s responsibility to act against
such acts of atrocity. No matter on what level, I urge you, to
do something. Imagine if this was happening here, and no one
came to defend you, or your child. Those who have the ability
to Defend the defenseless, also have the obligation to defend
the Defenseless.
My heart breaks for these people, and I cannot.... no, I
will not sit idly by while they are systematically
exterminated. NOT
ON MY WATCH!
PLEASE, WATCH the videos! It
wont take very long, and yes it may be hard to read or see some
of the things, but it hurts far less now, then to live the rest
of your life knowing that you were simply to busy at the time to
take a little time and see the
REAL
world's issues.
